Dadlabs.com

I love the site dadlabs.com. And it's not just because I won this cool highchair that Marni is sitting on by posting comments on their website. It's a Boon highchair and we love it. Every week dadlabs give away cool kids stuff like this.

They are a funny group of guys. Each week the produce four short videos about parenting, which is typically from a dads perspective. They also have two videos out, which unfortunately I've never seen and a book coming out next year. Seriously, check them out and win some gear.

First's

Well this is a post of firsts. Happy first birthday to the Big B, Brendan.

After Brendan's party at the Como Zoo, we went to a motel to swim. Marni had her first experience swimming in a pool and she absoultely loved it. She walked in the kiddie pool and swam in the big pool with mom. Here is a short video of Marni doing the back float (thanks to mom's help).

Jet Ski's are sold

Well Marni, we once had two jetski's. We sold them, so you won't get to ride them as you get older. Sorry. I added a picture for proof. One of them is anchored in the water, the other is in the lift beside the dock.

Marni thought it was funny to violently drink from her sippy cup. We caught a little bit of it on video.

Swingers R Us

Get your mind out of the gutter, Marni was on the swing. This was actually her second time on the swing. Yesterday afternoon Aunt Gina and Grandma Schuelke went to the park and rode in the swings. Tonight it was daddy's turn with Marni and Grandma. She really likes the swing as you can see in the picture.

Marni wants mommy before bed

Last night, mommy was out of town for work. And Marni only wanted mommy to put her to bed. She was so upset, at one point she took the bottle and put it in her mouth but didn't tip it back to get the milk. Instead she just sat there and bounced and cried with it in her mouth. I tried to get a picture of her but this is the best I could get. In the end, Marni won. I went to softball and grandma walked with her until she was calm enough to drink her bottle. Thank goodness mommy is home tonight.

4th of July @ the Cabin

The 4th of July was an excellent time. We had the Schuelke family up at the cabin for four days. We had a great time relaxing, swimming, fishing and sitting around the camp fires. Marni had her first opportunity to swim in the lake. Here are a few pictures.

Marni is her name

Marni is now 9 months and 1 week old. She loves to crawl around and she
has her first tooth coming in. Talking is one thing she really loves to
do. It takes an older cousin with a big mouth to quiet her down.

She is such a happy girl; it's hard to believe we had to put her on
reflux medicine again. Hopefully this is only for a week or two. The
doc said it could have flared up from the tooth, a cold, or
separation anxiety.
